Hurricane-induced population decrease in a Critically Endangered long-lived reptile

St. Eustatius was hit twice during the hurricane season in 2017 by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Two recent studies provide insight into how local reptile populations have responded to this devastating natural phenomenon.

About RAVON & SOS iguana

SOS iguana is a collaboration project together with partner organisations STENAPA and DCNA. The project is run and maintained by the NGO, RAVON. The focus with RAVON lies in the protection of reptiles, amphibians, and fish in the Netherlands and the Dutch Caribbean ( Saba, St. Eustatius, Bonaire) which we do together with volunteers and donors.
